The Dazu Longshui Lake Half Marathon is a scenic destination race held annually in Dazu District since 2016, attracting around 6,000 runners. Combining the natural beauty of Longshui Lake with the rich cultural heritage of Dazu, the event has earned a reputation as one of Chongqing’s premier ecological running races. The largely flat and open course follows the shores of Longshui Lake, with approximately 60% of the route running directly alongside the water. Runners pass through signature scenic areas including Cherry Blossom Avenue, the lakeside greenway, and Bayue Avenue, enjoying expansive lake views and a relaxing natural environment throughout the race. Beyond its scenery, the marathon draws inspiration from the world-famous Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its Buddhist art and the iconic Thousand-Hand Guanyin.
