The course begins on modern city streets before, after the first seven kilometers, entering the vast Gobi Desert. Runners are surrounded by rolling sand dunes, dramatic Yardang landforms, and the breathtaking scenery that has defined Dunhuang for centuries. The route culminates near the iconic Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring, where golden dunes meet a tranquil desert oasis in one of China's most celebrated landscapes.
