First held in 1987, the Hangzhou Marathon is a premier road race in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, known as China’s “Digital Capital.” The course features scenic routes around the iconic West Lake and other city landmarks, offering mostly flat terrain suitable for runners of all levels. The event attracts approximately 36,000 participants annually and reflects Hangzhou’s vibrant urban culture, natural beauty, and status as an Asian Games host city.
