About Events

The Hangzhou Qiantang Women’s Half Marathon was widely recognized as China’s most influential women-only road race before the pandemic. The course runs along the north bank of the Qiantang River, taking runners past iconic city landmarks such as City Balcony, Hangzhou Gateway, and the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center, seamlessly blending a modern urban skyline with riverside ecological scenery. Located in northern Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou is a historic yet forward-looking city shaped by the Qiantang River, its “mother river,” which flows through the heart of the city. The river is also famous for the spectacular Qiantang Tidal Bore, celebrated in China as “the world’s most magnificent tidal phenomenon.” This race offers women runners a unique opportunity to experience Hangzhou’s dynamic cityscape, rich culture, and iconic riverside scenery in one unforgettable run.
