About Events

The Linze Marathon is a scenic destination race held annually in Linze County, Gansu Province, located on the ancient Silk Road and near the Hexi Corridor. First established in 2015, the event attracts around 6,000 runners and is best known for its breathtaking course through one of China’s most iconic natural wonders. The race is closely connected to Zhangye Danxia National Geopark, famous for its dramatic rainbow-colored rock formations and otherworldly desert landscapes. Runners experience vast open views, colorful mountains, and the unique geological scenery that has made Zhangye Danxia one of the most photographed destinations in China. Combining endurance running with a UNESCO-recognized geological landscape, the Linze Marathon offers a truly unforgettable race experience in the heart of the ancient Silk Road region.
