Run the Shunde Ronggui Ring Island Marathon, a fast New Year race featuring riverside island scenery and the famous food culture of Shunde, China’s culinary capital.
The Shunde Ronggui Island Marathon is one of China’s most distinctive food and lifestyle marathon events, held annually in Ronggui, Shunde District. Attracting over 18,000 runners, the race combines flat island-loop roads, festive New Year atmosphere, and the world-famous culinary culture of Shunde, widely recognized as a “City of Gastronomy.” Originally launched as a New Year’s Day long-distance run in 1988, the event has evolved into Foshan’s first officially marathon certified by the Chinese Athletics Association. Known for its flat and fast course, the race is widely regarded by runners as one of China’s best marathon events for achieving PB. The course features scenic riverside and island-loop landscapes, while the post-race Shunde Food Carnival has become legendary among participants. More than 180,000 servings of authentic local delicacies are prepared for finishers, earning the event the nickname “The Marathon on the Tip of the Tongue.”
