Run through the UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Mount Song and experience Shaolin culture, legendary mountain trails, and one of China’s most iconic martial arts landscapes.
The Songshan Trail Race is a premier mountain ultra-trail event held in Mount Song, one of China’s Five Great Sacred Mountains. First established in 2018 as the Songshan 100 International Trail Race, the event has evolved into one of the country's most culturally distinctive trail running competitions. The course traverses the dramatic peaks of both Taishi Mountain and Shaoshi Mountain, connecting some of Songshan’s most famous landmarks, including Shaolin Temple, the Pagoda Forest, Bodhidharma Cave, and Sanhuangzhai Scenic Area. With a high percentage of non-paved terrain, steep ascents, rocky mountain paths, and constantly changing trail conditions, the race demands strong technical and endurance skills from participants. Combined with the spiritual heritage of Shaolin Kung Fu and the grandeur of Mount Song, the race offers an experience unlike any other trail event in China.
