About Events

The Qufu Half Marathon is a cultural destination race held annually in Qufu, attracting around 12,000 runners. As the birthplace of Confucius, one of the most influential thinkers in world history, Qufu offers a unique marathon experience rooted in over two thousand years of Chinese civilization. The course takes runners through a city renowned for its Confucian heritage, historic landmarks, and traditional cultural atmosphere. Participants can immerse themselves in the spirit of Confucius while exploring one of China’s most important cultural destinations. Inspired by the famous Confucian saying, “Is it not a joy to have friends come from afar?”, the event warmly welcomes runners from across China and around the world to gather in the hometown of Confucius and celebrate the joy of sport and friendship.
