Run the Burqin–Kanas Ultra Trail, a four-day stage race through alpine lakes, forests, grasslands, and mountain valleys in northern Xinjiang’s most spectacular wilderness.
The Burqin–Kanas Ultra Trail is a unique four-day stage trail running adventure across the breathtaking landscapes of northern Xinjiang. Connecting the world-famous Kanas region with Burqin, the event takes runners through some of China's most pristine and remote natural scenery. Each stage showcases a different environment: the alpine lakes and forests of Kanas, the traditional wooden village and grasslands of Hemu, the open valleys of Chonghuer, and the river landscapes surrounding Burqin. Participants can choose between 42 km and 21 km distances at every stage, while the final day also includes a 5 km option. Unlike a traditional single-day race, every stage offers a completely new visual and physical experience, allowing runners to explore the diverse beauty of the Altay Mountains and northern Xinjiang. For those seeking the ultimate challenge, the Grand Slam category rewards runners who complete all four stages across the entire route.
