The Beijing E-Town Half Marathon & Humanoid Robot Half Marathon is one of the world’s most innovative running events, held annually in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (E-Town). The race brings together around 12,000 runners and hundreds of humanoid robots, creating a unique showcase of sports, technology, and artificial intelligence. Widely recognized as the world's first large-scale humanoid robot half marathon, the event features human runners and robots competing simultaneously on the same course. In 2026, more than 300 humanoid robots participated, with a significant proportion demonstrating autonomous navigation capabilities. The rapid advancement of robot performance has drawn global attention, with winning robot times improving dramatically from approximately 2h40m in 2025 to under 50m in subsequent competitions. Combining road running with cutting-edge robotics, the event offers one of the world’s most unique race experiences.
